We hope your 2026 is off to a great start. We wanted to bring you up to date on some good news, and things to look forward to in the coming months.

We are in the very early stages of another project!
2025 Recap
What a year our micro-press had: not only was Storyteller published, but it traveled to conventions and book readings, including across the Atlantic to the World Fantasy Convention in the UK last November.
Of course, we also are warmed in the U.S. northeast January chill by the library circulation of Storyteller.
The more people are introduced to Tanith Lee, the better. We’ve also heard from readers how lovely it is to once again be immersed in worlds inspired by the master author.
In fact, more than 1,075 humans now own a copy of Storyteller: a Tanith Lee Tribute Anthology. We are simultaneously humbled that this many people chose to own this book, into which we poured of years of passion and determination, and proud of the anthology’s authors, all of whom deserve to be on bookshelves galore.

Speaking of our amazing authors, award nominations season is underway in the book world, and our editor Julie has been making sure the fiction in Storyteller is represented in the pool of nominees. If you know of a nomination that would be a great fit for our anthology, please reach out!
A “standout collection”
We also wanted to share that the author Erica Ruppert listed Storyteller as a standout collection in Weird Fiction Quarterly. Thank you, Erica!

Essential Dreams Press is in the very early stages of a new project—the talking phase, one could say. We can’t share too many details at this time, but keep an eye out for our trail of enthusiasm; it’s bound to emerge soon. What we can say is it feels marvelous to be stoking the flames of creativity once again.
